Jonah Gravenstein wrote:You're right about the first part we are potentially the biggest bloc in the game I doubt it. As Tippia is so quick to point out, a large share of high-sec characters are likely alts of people who might not vote high-sec. Take me, for instance: I have all six slots on my two accounts, one of which is logged off in a wormhole somewhere and the rest in high-sec, for the moment, and I consider myself (and have voted as) a non-high-sec voter. What exactly is missing in the current crop of CSM candidates? You've got a representative who ran on a mining platform, for Christ's sake. IIRC there was also someone running on a ******* "API" platform.
I'm guessing what you really want is more carebear representatives. Nothing Found |

Frying Doom wrote:The only thing missing is the majority of players voting. Why?
You'd have to be either a complete numbskull or just plain apathetic to not vote for the CSM, and I don't want numbskulls or the apathetic to vote. Nothing Found |

Frying Doom wrote:If democracy has shown anything its that numbskulls need to vote too. No, actually, it hasn't shown anything of the sort; quite the opposite, in fact.
Frying Doom wrote:This is a game and it is just as much theirs as it is ours. They obviously need educating otherwise they would vote. Every democratic organization in the world attempts to encourage people to vote and have their say. Why should we be any different? So you basically want the willfully ignorant or completely stupid to be forced to vote? Nothing Found |

Corina Jarr wrote:How do you plan on getting the majority of players to vote if they won't now?
CSM members already advertise everywhere, including EVE mail. He wants CCP to do MOAR WERK. Nothing Found |

Frying Doom wrote:Yes that is possible and it is also possible more people will vote. Didn't Issler and Hanz make a route through high-sec doing some advertising? I also recall around that time a lot of people doing the same in local for their own pet candidate.
You might as well face the facts. People simply aren't going to vote, even if you force them, and you really don't want the willfully ignorant voting because they're just going to press the first button they see.. Nothing Found |

Signal11th wrote:I'm actually going to stop posting in this thread as me and Zim are arguing the same points but he's doing a better job of it. The argument is highly circular at this point anyway. I think by this point Frying "I love Issler" Doom has proven that he's completely insane, has absolutely no idea how democracy actually works, and wants CCP to a bunch of extra work to get apathetic people to vote in a fake election for a video game. I would have liked a different colour as well to highlight the fact that he seems to believe yelling turns your assumptions into facts. Unfortunately, no matter how well it is spelled out you still won't get it. The sad part is that you will take away from this thread a sense of "I can handle 35+ pages worth of Goons" when, in fact, you are just confirming how downright loony you actually are.
